Costa de la Luz

Spanish property in the Costa De La Luz is attracting more interest from the Northern European market. "The Coast Of Light" takes it name from the pure light that touches the rolling dunes and amazing cliffs that characterize its wild and unspoilt scenic coastline. It covers two main provinces, Huelva and Cadiz but is known as the "Spanish Algarve" due to its proximity to Portugal, however, it can boast significantly lower property prices than its next-door neighbour.

The Huelva province illustrates why this is the area where the Spanish people holiday. Whoever said this part of the Costa de la Luz is Spain's best-kept secret was certainly telling the truth! The fine, sandy beaches of the Costa de la Luz, in the shelter of the pine woods, stretch in an arc from Ayamonte to Punta Umbria. This is the coast of Western Andalusia.

The Costa de la Luz gets its name not just from the average 3,000 hours of sunshine it enjoys every year, but also from the amazing bright light that brings home the beauty of the neatness of the streets, the whitewash of the walls, the golden sand dunes and the silvery sea. The Atlantic Costa de la Luz in the Huelva province is home to the aquamarine crystal clear Atlantic Ocean, sand dunes, golf courses and miles of beaches. Inland there are a great variety of different sceneries that awaits the traveller.

Costa de la Luz countryside boasts wild mountain ranges, fertile farmlands and pasturelands, vineyards and secluded towns. The Pine woods and Cork forests are punctuated by the beautiful whitewashed villages (pueblos blancos). Springtime is particularly special in and around Huelva, with an explosion of flowers, popular festivals and festivities. Wintertime is cool and sunny and attracts millions of birds to the area.

The coast is flat with very long beaches where relatively modern towns have been set up. There are sand dunes, sandbanks and Pine forests that are formed by the estuaries of small rivers and the powerful currents of the Atlantic Ocean.

The property market in Spain has shown in the recent years great capital gains. Off plan properties in Islantilla, Ayamonte, Isla Canela, Costa Esuri, Nuevo Portil and El Rompido have shown extraordinary figures.

Probably the largest project in Spain is Costa Esuri on the banks of the Guadiana River. There will be 2 golf courses in the centre of a new Andalusian village. Costa Esuri will offer the infrastructure, that guarantees people to live in a typical Spanish village. Other golf properties that are in the area can be found at Isla Canela, Islantilla and Nuevo Portil.

The beaches of Isla Canela, Isla Cristina, Islantilla, El Rompido, Nuevo Portil and Punta Umbria are unique in Europe. We have learned by the mistakes that have been made in other areas of Spain. No huge buildings, all properties fit perfect into the Andalusian landscape.

Another small jewel is Ayamonte, where the Portuguese Algarve ends and the Costa de la Luz begins.

It is worth to visit this part of the Costa de la luz - you will come as a foreigner - you will go or you may stay as a friend.
